There is no question, the S-TYPE makes a statement. But not the kind that shouts from rooftops, demanding attention. It is more of a quietly confident presence, the kind of elegance that both turns heads and elicits subtle nods of both recognition and aesthetic appreciation.

Styling

While the exterior of the S-TYPE maintains its distinctive, unique bearing, updates for the 2006 model year include sumptuous new bright mesh grille inserts that elegantly correlate with the graceful curvature of the body.

Wheel Styles

Six alloy wheel styles, from the elegantly sculptural to the aggressively race-inspired, are available in sizes up to 18 inches. The 18-in. 5-spoke Vulcan wheels (shown) are standard equipment on the S-TYPE R.

Park Control

Reverse Park Control (standard) and Front Park Control (optional on 3.0, 4.2; standard on VDP and R) use ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers to audibly detect and alert drivers to unseen obstacles when parking, increasing in frequency as distance narrows.

Rain-sensing Wipers

Rain sensing wipers (available with the Premium Package on 3.0, standard on all other models) automatically sense precipitation and adjust their speed and operation accordingly. When wipers are activated (with the headlamps in automatic mode) the lights will activate as well.

Moonroof

Standard for all S-TYPE models, the power tilt-and-slide moonroof features one-touch activation for fast opening and closing and includes an anti-trap function that helps prevent fingers from getting caught.

Headlamps

Headlamps automatically turn on or off, based on exterior light levels. Automatically leveling Xenon headlamps, (optional on 4.2, standard on VDP and R) provide significantly more light intensity than standard halogen bulbs while following road contours to ensure maximum visibility at all times.

Self-Dimming Rearview and Side Mirrors

Electrochromic rearview and side mirrors darken automatically when detecting glare from other vehicle headlights, reducing strain on the driver´s eyes. (available with the Premium Package on 3.0, standard on all other models).
