The S-TYPE is assembled at Jaguar´s legendary Castle Bromwich facility. With over 2,500 employees working within 93 acres of manufacturing space (more than 1.4 million square feet), Castle Bromwich creates every vehicle under the exacting standards for which Jaguars are known worldwide.
Simulated Testing (CREST)
Jaguar´s Combined Road and Environmental Simulation Test (CREST) cycles test models through 13 stages that simulate the aging process, thus evaluating the demands on the fit, finish and functionality of each component. This process helps Jaguar engineers create vehicles of exceptional strength and stamina, and has resulted in the ever-increasing standings in quality surveys.
Performance Testing
One of several Jaguar test facilities worldwide, the Nürburgring "Nordschleife" test track in Germany winds through 73 turns over 20 punishing kilometres. Jaguar engineers refined the S-TYPE´s exceptional handling, abundant horsepower and durability by subjecting vehicles to hundreds of closely-studied laps at continuous high speeds.
Four-coat Paint Process
Jaguar´s four-coat paint process provides consistent depth and luster to vehicle paint finish. The robotic process involves an initial primer coat, which is then wet-sanded to ensure a smooth surface for second primer, followed by a base coat, with a final clear coat for added durability.
Anti-Corrosion
To help combat corrosion, every S-TYPE is injected with wax and then placed in a special oven. The melting wax seeps into the tiniest crevices throughout the vehicle, helping to prevent corrosion of all types.
